Alzheimer’s Care Armenia (ACA), in collaboration with Expper Technologies investigated the use of an emotional support robot named Robin to improve the well-being of our elders at Nork Old Age Home in 2021.
This innovative project was conceived by Dr. Mahakian and funded by The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation and endorsed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The elders at the home were absolutely in love with Robin the Robot! Research participants in the intervention group demonstrated an improvement in cognitive functioning.
This groundbreaking project provided a great deal of support for the elder at Nork Old Age Home. So much in love with this amazing new family friend, Robin spent an additional 8 months or so at their home, no doubt, everyone enjoyed and benefited from Robin! Truly life changing.
