In cooperation with the National Institute of Health and the endorsement of the RA Ministry of Health, the Train the Trainer Program’s first early detection cognitive screening training with primary care physicians was held on November 28th. A total of 10 primary care physicians were trained on the Montreal Assessment Test and the basics of Alzheimer’s disease. The physicians were from the following regions of Armenia: Gyumri, Armavir Marz, Tavush Marz, Kotayq Marz, Lori Marz, Vayots Dzor Marz, Ararat Marz, Gegarqunik Marz and Syuniq Marz. The training emphasized the importance of early detection as the first step toward diagnosis. Each physician received continuing medical education units for their participation and received a certificate. After the training, the physician will coordinate with the Dr. Sona Mkhitaryan. Director of Clinical Operations to organize a training with ten of their colleagues. Alzheimer’s Care Armenia will provide on-going consultation and plan to hold quarterly consultation sessions with the Train the Trainer participants.
